Misery loves company.

an anthology

by Riley Elton McCarthy and Amir Gad

EVERYONE'S MISERABLE IN MISERY, MISSOURI.

Where the crescent of the Missouri river meets the hills of the Midwest, buried beneath moss and conifer trees lies the sleepy forgotten town of Misery, where nothing seems to happen yet everyone is miserable. After mysterious disappearances and an unexpected tragedy rattle the tiny misbegotten town, survivors across all walks of Misery's life band together to vanquish the evil that lurks within... if they can figure out where the hell it came from, for starters!

This five play anthology, all linked together, is co-written by Amir Gad and Riley Elton McCarthy. MISERY, MISSOURI is written specifically for the use of unconventional lighting techniques that are eco-friendly in lieu of traditional stage lights, forcing a dual sense of intimacy and claustrophobia as the horror and hope in this world builds upon itself. You may be squinting in the dark but what's more important is how in the face of tragedy we manage to find the light... or maybe, it finds us.
